Kevin Durant To The Warriors

And it has finally been sealed and done. Kevin Durant will joining the Golden State Warrior next season. Durant had been expected to remain with the Oklahoma City Thunder but in a turn of events KD confirmed the move this morning via the Player's Tribune website. Durant cites his primary motive for the move as growth as a player. It has been reported that the deal is worth $54.3 million over two years. Durant will join none other than Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green next season.

Oklahome City fans are not taking their star player's move lightly. Reminiscent of when Lebron James made his announcement to move to Miami to join the Heat, fans all over Ohio were burning his jersey. Oklahoma City fans took to Twitter posting photos of Durant's jersey engulfed in flames as well calling him out for a tweet made in 2010.

Seems like KD decided to jump the bandwagon himself. None the less, this move will be beneficial to his career growth and he could definitely look forward to getting closer to giving himself the best opportunity to win.

Colin Kaepernick - Jets Saga

Superstar Quarterback Colin Kaepernick is on the search for a new team. Reports came out this week that the former starting 49ers Quarterback wants out of San Francisco and in with the New York Jets.
Kaepernick has been on multiple team's radar since his mid season benching came to a surprise to most as it was thought with the record breaking contract extension with San Francisco worth $126 million with $61 million guaranteed that he would be leading the team. Kaepernick was considered the face of the franchise with his incredible back to back NFC Championships runs. It seems once coach Jim Harbaugh left the team everything concerning Kaepernick went sour especially with the 49ers front office. Since then Kaepernick's performance has gone downhill.
The New York Jets have seemed to have found themselves within a sensible off season rumor. Jets Quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick threw for a franchise-record 31 touchdowns and is a pending free agent. However, both the Jets and Fitzpatrick have expressed interest in reuniting for the 2016 season.
Fitzpatrick's target receiver Brandon Marshall has expressed his desire that the Jets do not bring Colin Kaepernick in to take over Quarterbacking duties. During the 2015 season, Fitzpatrick threw to Marshall 109 times with 14 of those being touchdowns and for 1500 total reception yards. Marshall said 'I think he (Kaepernick) is good. My guy's Fitz. It's nothing against Kaepernick... I have my quarterback so I'm good.'
It would seem that the Jets would only be interested in acquiring Kaepernick would be through a trade or if come April 1, if he would be released. If he is released, this would save San Francisco $8.5 million of the $11.9 million due to him if the contract remains in tact.
This will be interesting once the 2015 season officially comes to an end this Sunday February 7, 2016 what the faith of Colin Kaepernick will be

Athlete Feature: Luciano Narsingh

Athlete Feature : Luciano Narsingh

Happy New Year ! I have been brainstorming many new ideas for the blog and The Athlete Feature is the first new feature on my blog.

My first athlete feature will be PSV Eindhoven's winger Luciano Narsingh. I recently came across Narsingh just a few months ago when I was watching my club Manchester United play in the Champions League against PSV Eindhoven. Narsingh scored an impeccable header goal against Manchester United. From that day I started following his career.

Narsingh has quite an impressive resume especially whilst playing for the Netherlands national team. He's represented the Netherlands professionally since 2012 and was also on the Under 18, Under 19, Under 20 and Under 21 Netherlands team from 2008-2012.

I think the other aspect about Narsingh that grasped my attention was his last name. Being that my parents are Guyanese, certain surnames you know are in the South American region. Narsingh's family are of Surinamese descent which is located just East of Guyana. Having always wanted to see someone from this region raise and make a name for themselves in sports, this is where Narsingh shines.

Narsingh is a right winger but can also play on the left wing and as an attacker in the midfield.

Expect to see great things from this young man in the coming years.

New York Jets Crash And Burn In Buffalo

In Week 17 of the 2015 NFL season, the Jets headed to Orchard Park, New York to take on AFC East division rivals the Buffalo Bills. A wildcard playoff was spot was up for grabs with a Jets win. With a plethora of turnovers and bad play calling, the post season hopes ended in Ralph Wilson Stadium.

The Jets went into Week 17 hoping to avenge their loss to Buffalo and former head coach Rex Ryan. Quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick's three interceptions proved costly in the Jets defeat.

The Jets loss makes this the fifth consecutive year that they have failed to punch their ticket into the postseason. The Pittsburgh Steelers clinched the final playoff spot in the AFC with their win against the Cleveland Browns.

The Jets have a lot of pondering to do during the offseason as to who they'll keep and who they'll let go. As a loyal lifetime Jets fan, I'd like to see a young, agile quarterback brought in (Colin Kaepernick).
