A little introduction about myself...
My name is Kristen Persaud. I was born and raised in Queens, New York. I then moved to West Palm Beach, Florida. I am currently living in London, England and am in pursuit of obtaining my Master's Degree in Intelligence and International Security at Kings College. Ironically enough I graduated from Florida Atlantic University in May 2011 with a Bachelor's Degree in Multimedia Journalism and a minor in Political Science. My focus has always been on sports and as much as I became intrigued with the Political realm of things particularly in the Middle East, I've come to realization that my true passion will always be sports.
Thereby, this is where the idea for this blog sprung from. RealEyes Sports is an idea that I have created where I believe that fans are the most important factor in sports. I am an avid New York Jets fan. In fact I would say that I'm quite possibly one of the biggest Jets fans. I've been a fan since I was a child and there is nothing more important than a Jets game to me during the football season. I would say since I moved to South Florida, land of one of the Jets biggest division rivals, the Dolphins. I have suffered from the infamous "Displaced Fan Syndrome," but thank god for Directv's NFL Season Ticket Package. Since moving to London, it has been even harder with the five hour time difference but I am proud to say I have yet to miss a Jet game this season let alone in over a decade!
I could be described as a fan of sports in general. I would say this passion for sports comes from my father living in front of the television and me being a daddy's girl always watching with him. From a very young age, I could remember attending football games with my dad, going to my brother's Karate competitions, randomly heading out to Long Island on weekend game days and catching New York Islanders games in nosebleed seats and my favourite memory that I still do to this day, reading newspapers from the back cover Sports page to the front!
